ABOUT MR. J'S ACADEMY
The Academy has been operating for over 9 years, developed from a classroom in my garage for 10 5th graders to today’s classrooms dedicated to grades 4th to 8th with a high school tutoring center.
The focus of the Academy is on the following:
- Customized curriculum to fit each student
- Individual/small group instruction
- Developing independence and understanding of their own learning styles
- Challenging outdoor activities
- Social interactions with the community
Although we serve all students, the Academy has been specializing in working with students who have IEPs (individualized education plans) for a variety of learning issues such as ADD/ADHD and Social Anxiety. The Academy is set up to make whatever accommodations are needed for a student to be successful.
In addition to students with IEPs, the Academy has also catered to young elite level athletes, actors/actresses, and other students who need a non-traditional system. Some of our past students utilized their year/years of schooling with the Academy to get into higher level private schools. Several alumni have received scholarships offers in their chosen sports.
